On the 200-acres of Jaguar Paw are the mouths of three awesome caves with vestiges of their use by Mayan ancestors. Guests aided by a knowledgeable guide can stalk the jungle paths for signs of wild animals, spot some of the more than 500 species of birds and hear about the jungle ghosts from the Belizean Bushmen who believe in them. And, not far in either direction from the resort are ancient ruins awaiting exploration.

Jaguar Paw Jungle Lodge is a totally unique resort hidden beneath rainforest canopy on the Caves Branch River, with one of Belize's largest and most renowned cave systems only steps from its front door.

Jaguar Paw is a unique upscale resort in 200 acres of pristine rainforest located in the foothills of the Maya mountains and situated on the edge of the "Caves Branch River." Opening out on the river is the last of a series of caves that begin miles inland in the same proximity as the famous "Blue Hole National Park."
We have a full service restaurant and bar. In addition to that we have an extra dining area outdoors with French windows floor to ceiling all the way around with no walls giving it a green house effect. This area seats 24 and is used to view movies and listen to our Mayan harpist in the evening.

There is a swimming pool which is about 50 yards from the outside dining area and is nestled at the foot of a hill surrounded by lush jungle. We also have a butterfly farm and an Aviary just pass the pool.


Accommodations include 16 rooms in four one-story units located to the back of the main building. The rooms are built in standard North American-style construction. Each room was decorated by Donna Young in a different theme to suite your taste, starting from Wild West (complete with a John Wayne poster), to Chinese, English Country Garden, and African. The furnishings are of high quality, the beds firm, and accessories that are seldom found in hotels. Our rooms provide the conveniences of home and are uniquely decorated with such novelties as lace shower curtains, puppets on the ceiling, or furnishings made from the stones and trees of the jungle itself. Jaguar Paw was built to give adventure by day and comfort by night.

Each room has either a queen bed or two single beds with a private hot and cold bath.
